Gold for the anniversary – Pott's Brewery celebrates 50 years of Landbier with top national rating

A crowning success in the anniversary year: At the renowned World Beer Awards 2025, Pott's Landbier was awarded gold and named Country Winner in its product category – the best German beer in its class.

But that's not all: The Landbier Hell and the Bourbon-Bock, a wood-aged vintage specialty, also impressed the expert jury – both received a silver medal. All three submitted beers received awards – a strong signal for the consistent quality and diversity of the product range.

"It's very special for us that our Landbier receives this honor in our anniversary year," says Jörg Pott, managing director of the seventh-generation family brewery. "For 50 years, it has stood for honest brewing, regional identity, and a particularly balanced, malty aroma. This award confirms our path and motivates us to continue brewing with passion."

With over 3,000 beers submitted from all over the world, the World Beer Awards are one of the largest international beer competitions – which makes this current award all the more impressive.

Brewmaster Peter Wienstroer emphasizes: "Our Landbier remains our number one beer specialty—the product that has made Pott's what it is today." And Guido Marquardt, Sales Director, adds: "In addition to the classic, two other bestsellers, Landbier Hell and Landbier Alkoholfrei, have now established themselves. With this, we have further developed a successful product category that is firmly rooted in the region—truly in keeping with our motto 'Plop your homeland.'"

This latest award demonstrates once again that the brewing tradition cultivated in Münsterland is receiving the highest recognition. For Pott's, the honor is not only a validation of its own work, but also a proud symbol for the entire region and its vibrant beer culture.

This award-winning country beer delights with its delicate caramel notes, full-bodied body, and balanced bitterness. Its amber brilliance and mild character make it a classic in the Pott's range—and now also the national leader in its category at the World Beer Awards 2025.
