Own beer for the arrival of the submarine U17 in the Sinsheim Technology Museum

An extraordinary event is currently causing a stir in Germany: a decommissioned German Navy submarine is making its way from Kiel to Sinsheim. This spectacular transport, which combines water and land routes, is not only attracting the attention of logistics experts, but is also inspiring the local brewing culture.

A cargo almost 50 meters long, 9 meters high and 4.5 meters wide was initially transported by ship up the Rhine to Speyer. After reducing the weight to 350 tons, the submarine continued its journey across the Neckar. In Haßmersheim, the waterway ended with a large "entry festival" before the gigantic transport continued by road. To celebrate this special event, the Hochhausen Brewing and Cultural Association had an original idea: the "Turbo Krapp" beer. This specially brewed beer is more than just a drink - it is a tribute to the submarine transport and also serves to finance cultural events in the region. The name "Krapp" refers to the raven in the Hochhausen coat of arms, and the label of the unfiltered beer shows a black bird pulling a submarine out of the Neckar - a creative combination of local customs and a current event. The "Turbo Krapp" is the result of regional cooperation: seven years ago, Andreas Kunz's Lamm brewery in Untergröningen became a partner of the Hochhausen Brewing and Cultural Association. Since then, the Kunz family has been producing the "Krapp" beer for the association, including the special "Turbo Krapp" edition for the submarine event. This cooperation illustrates how an extraordinary event such as the submarine transport not only brings with it logistical challenges, but can also give rise to creative and community projects. The "Turbo Krapp" is therefore more than just a beer - it symbolizes a spirit of innovation, regional cooperation and the ability to create something unique from unusual situations.
