Ahörnla Braugaststätte

The history of one of the oldest breweries in the World Heritage city of Bamberg is already over 650 years old. Always affectionately called Ahörnla (unicorn) by the people of Bamberg, the lavishly renovated guest room and the new brewery, after 60 years without beer brewed in-house, now offer connoisseurs a changing range of beer specialties and Franconian pub cuisine, complemented by Franconian street food until the evening hours and an extensive bar menu for convivial evenings.

Experience taste in a new way

Our inn

Our inn is more than just a nice place to eat. You can spend a sociable evening in our bar area, and when Sandstrasse outside the door is bustling with life at the weekend, you can celebrate together and enjoy life in the Ahörnla.

Our shared passion

Our beer

Sand Hell, Ahörnla Rotbier Seasonal: Ahörnla Roter Bock, Tropic Thunder IPA, Holy Smoke, Kellerbier, Festbier, Adventtrunk, Sommerlager

The Einhorn is not only the namesake of the building first mentioned in 1366, but also of a unique brewery project, the origins of which date back several centuries. First mentioned as a brewery in 1406, the kettles of the Einhorn brewery cooled down in 1961 after hundreds of years of beer tradition. In 2021, this is how our heart project was born: Ahörnla Bräu. With the philosophy of reviving old things without losing sight of the spirit of the times, we brew our beers only with organic hops in our modern 10hl brewhouse.

Shaping the future together

Looking ahead: The exciting journey of our brewery inn

With the renovation of the former fermentation and storage cellar of the old existing brewery, nothing stands in the way of a planned expansion of our brewery. We are looking forward to soon being able to make our idea of tasty beers, brewed with the best ingredients from the region, known nationwide.
