At the BRAUHAUS-WIRTSHAUS, you'll find the region's first tank beer taproom. The beer flows directly from our brewery's rock cellar into copper storage tanks. The completely renovated inn's interior design seamlessly blends tradition with contemporary style. Enjoy Swabian classics and delicious vegetarian dishes. Most of our suppliers are from the immediate region; we are "Taste the South" certified and a Biosphere Reserve host.
In 1521, the monks in the Benedictine monastery in Zwiefalten brewed their first beer, laying the foundation for half a millennium of Zwiefalten brewing tradition. The most popular BREWING SPECIALTY is the Helle 1521 and its recipe represents everything that makes Zwiefalter brewing special. Malting barley from the Alb, hops from Tettnang and extra time to ripen!
500 years have passed since the first beer was brewed in Zwiefalten. The world has changed, everything around it has changed - what remains is the half-century-old brewing craft of the monks. The Baader family and their employees still brew beers today that stand out from the industrial masses: with raw materials from the region, a special character and incomparable taste.
The Baader family took over the monks' former brewery in 1897 and gradually expanded it. Today, the modern private brewery is firmly rooted in the region. A visit to the BIERWELT (Beer World) promises to be particularly special: whether stopping by the BRAUHUAS (Brewery House) with its tank beer taps, relaxing in the natural beer garden, shopping in the BIERHIMMEL (Beer Heaven) farm shop, or enjoying experiences like brewing courses and beer tastings: at the BIERWELT, 500 years of monastic brewing tradition come alive.
